Job Description & How to Apply Below
About Radiant Radiant is an El Segundo, CA-based startup building the world’s first mass-produced, portable nuclear microreactors. Rising energy demand is straining the U.S. grid and driving up utility costs, emissions, and interconnection backlogs. Radiant decentralizes energy, producing power close to where it’s used. Its first reactor, Kaleidos, is a factory-built, 1-megawatt, fail-safe microreactor that can be transported by land, sea, or air and runs up to 5 years without refueling.

Deployed locally without a decade-long build or permitting fight, Kaleidos provides independent power for critical infrastructure like military bases, data centers, hospitals, and remote sites. Founded in 2020, Radiant is under contract to deliver power to the U.S. Army, Air Force, Navy, and has pre-order agreements with Equinix, with deployments beginning in 2028.About the Role Radiant is seeking a talented Senior Electrical Engineer to own designs from requirements capture through operation.

The candidate will be directly responsible for components of the nuclear microreactor control and measurement systems. The ideal candidate should be comfortable jumping from designing circuit boards to integration work interfacing with fault-tolerant, off-the-shelf hardware. This role requires collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams designing the nuclear reactor core, fluid heat transfer systems, and structures. Responsibilities & Duties:
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support the architecture, design, implementation, and testing of the microreactor electrical control systems.

Design and develop industrial electrical control hardware including schematics, wiring diagrams, harnessing, and integration assemblies.

Lead design of fault-tolerant and safety-critical electrical systems, emphasizing reliability, maintainability, and regulatory compliance.

Develop and review electrical interface designs between control systems, power equipment, and instrumentation.

Ensure designs comply with applicable electrical codes and safety standards including NFPA and NEC requirements.

Perform SCCR and Arc Flash calculations.
