Baker Tilly US is a leading advisory, tax and assurance firm with a global footprint and a focus on middle‑market clients. The Tax Senior Manager – Private Client will serve as a trusted tax business advisor, delivering industry‑specific federal tax compliance and consulting services, building client relationships, and driving firm growth in the Los Angeles region.
Responsibilities
• Lead client relationships on day‑to‑day tax matters for middle‑market and multinational clients.
• Provide federal tax compliance and consulting services, consulting on technical matters and special projects in corporate and flow‑through taxation, accounting methods, ASC 740, and state/local, high‑net‑worth, international, R&D, credits, and incentives.
• Research tax matters, respond to IRS and other tax authority inquiries, and make recommendations to clients.
• Coordinate with specialty tax practices on complex tax matters.
• Manage engagement staffing, billings/collections, and ensure client profitability targets are met.
• Network and build relationships internally and externally to acquire new clients, projects, and revenue.
• Invest in professional development individually and through firm learning programs.
• Support the growth and development of team members through the Baker Tilly Care and Teach philosophy.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, law, or a similar business degree; masters or advanced degree desirable.
• CPA or JD required.
• Eight (8)+ years of federal tax compliance and consulting experience in a professional services firm.
• Five (5)+ years of supervisory experience, mentoring and counseling associates.
• Demonstrated management, analytical, organization, interpersonal, project management, and communication skills.
• Highly developed software and Microsoft Suite skills.
• Eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship preferred.
Compensation
The compensation range for this role is $145,000 to $257,000. Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to skills, experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
