Cloud Architect

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Possess a strong infrastructure background, including cloud technologies, within an IT-centric environment.
• Develop infrastructure evolution roadmaps.
• Identify and assess technology trends; recommend solutions in Cloud and Virtualization.
• Design and develop integrated private and public cloud management platforms.
• Collaborate with IT security to embed information security and risk management within hybrid cloud architectures; mitigate cyber risks and emerging threats.
• Promote cloud and virtualization capabilities across business units and teams.
• Experience with containers (e.g., Docker), orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes), and cloud platforms (e.g., Open Stack, AWS, GCE) is required.
• Experience with microservices architecture and automated deployment is required; experience with decomposing applications into microservices is a plus.
• Strong understanding of SaaS operational aspects.
• Knowledge of Service-Oriented Architecture and RESTful interfaces is a plus.
• Ability to design architecture across various responsibilities, including presentation, business logic, and integration.
• Experience with open standards-based architecture (e.g., Docker, Chef, Puppet).
• Designing highly available, elastic cloud infrastructures.
• Experience integrating with external partners via RESTful APIs is a plus.

Technology stack includes: AWS, Docker, Containers, Python, Apache, Nginx, HAProxy, Elastic Search, Git, Contrail, Vagrant, Kubernetes, Etcd, Open Stack, KVM, Ansible, Load balancers, JavaScript.

Skills:

• Proficiency in scripting, especially Python.
• Networking, virtualization, and storage expertise.
• Strategic thinking for new service development.
• Focus on cloud services, especially AWS, Open Stack, Azure.
• Experience with private cloud solutions like VMware and Open Stack.
• Previous video background and familiarity with standards and protocols is a plus, especially in LA area.
• Experience in cloud architecture design and enhancement, not just development.
