Overview
Senior Safety Officer role in Los Angeles SFB. Responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing safety and occupational health programs. Senior-level ensures compliance with safety regulations and promotes a proactive risk-based safety culture. Lead site safety assessments, accident prevention programs, and training initiatives across multiple BIM project locations. Primary advisor on health and safety matters with program leadership, field supervisors, and government stakeholders to identify hazards, mitigate risks, and maintain continuous compliance with OSHA and other applicable standards.
Responsibilities- Senior OSHA-certified role overseeing all aspects of team and USG personnel on-site safety related to HAZMAT, underground, confined spaces, and other dangerous situations.
- Develop safety plans and training materials for all staff.
- Conduct inspections of work sites and audit compliance with safety policies and protocols.
- Serve as On-Site Safety Officer monitoring compliance with OSHA safety standards.
- Possess knowledge or experience in safety management and safety engineering.
- Physical presence and experience working on implementation or installation sites of various sizes and project complexity.
- Produce reports regarding safety incidents and input data deliverables for safety incidents.
- Ensure installations are performed within safety standards and work site conditions (cleanliness) and restore the site to original or better condition.
- Evaluate performance results and recommend changes for continuous improvement.
- Function as a safety expert across multiple project assignments.
Education / Certifications:
- Technical BA / BS Degree or High School Diploma or Associate Degree.
- OSHA Certified.
- Construction Safety 30-hour Training.
- Confined Space Training.
- First Aid Training.
Experience /
Skills:
- 7 years experience with BA / BS Degree.
- Minimum of 10 years performing as a Safety Lead, Manager, or Officer supporting solutions on large, complex projects with High School Diploma or Associate Degree.
Clearance Requirement: Active Department of Defense (DoD) Secret (Tier
3) level clearance.
Skills & Technology Used:
- Experience supporting DoD projects, specifically network modernization projects.
- Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
Supervisory / Budget Responsibilities: Team Lead.
