Manufacturing Engineer, Mechanical Engineer
Amca is building airplanes for the 21st century, starting by designing new hardware that flies on today’s planes. Aviation was once humanity’s boldest ambition, but the industry hasn’t successfully built a new plane in 40 years. We don’t think it has to be this way.
OverviewYou will work with senior machinists, tool makers and engineering teams to run prototype parts, develop tools, perform CNC machining operations, and roll out short run production parts to rapidly convert design ideas into prototypes.
ResponsibilitiesUse geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) knowledge to machine prototype parts, tooling and molds based on desired final part geometries
CNC Milling, Turning and Mill-Turn equipment programming editing
Machine prototype aerospace parts, short-run machined parts, tooling, and fixturing
Perform manual milling and turning
Provide Design for Manufacturability feedback for prototype parts
Perform spur of the moment machining adjustments to achieve desired outcomes in a fast-moving environment
Assist with machine setup and commissioning, and routine maintenance
5+ years of experience in machining, with a focus on aerospace or high-precision components. (Preference for 5-axis experience)
