Inventory Manager 2nd Shift – Millennium Space Systems

The Inventory Manager will support the Inventory team in El Segundo, CA, managing all aspects of inventory, key performance indicators, systems, processes and tools. The role involves coaching and mentoring a team of union members, maintaining department coverage, and conducting department meetings to communicate goals, objectives and priorities.

This position works within the MRP/ERP modules to ensure inventory is handled, stored, managed and protected in accordance with company requirements. The internal job code is Supply Chain Mgmt Analyst. The team is currently hiring for a level K.

Position Responsibilities
  • This position has a 3:00 PM start time and requires flexibility to cover the day shift as needed.
  • Weekend availability may be required.
  • Oversee daily inventory operations including tracking, cycle and physical counts, reconciliations and adjustments.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy and integrity through regular audits and process improvements.
  • Ensure timely receipt and distribution of goods to proper departments and delivery areas.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to drive efficiencies in collaboration with the Global Supply Chain and other functional teams.
  • Create and update inventory procedures.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies in inventory records.
  • Create and maintain KPIs relevant to the organization.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, company safety standards, as well as AS9100 and other industry standard audits.
  • Motivate, develop, train and mentor the team.
  • Adhere to union contract details while effectively leading team members.

This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Security Clearance & Export Control Requirements

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, requiring a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15, including US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee or asylee. Must be able to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance; U.S. Citizenship is required by the U.S. Government. Interim and/or final clearance will be required post‑start.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain or a related field or 7–10 years of experience in inventory and materials management.
  • Proficiency with Costpoint or other ERP/MRP/WMS inventory management systems.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time‑management abilities.
  • Must be able to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance; U.S. Citizenship is required by the U.S. Government.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
  • 3–5 years of leadership experience.
  • APICS or CPIM certificate or certification.
  • Experience managing a union workforce.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing Methodology.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Pay is based on candidate experience and qualifications, market and business considerations. Summary pay range:
Level K $107,100–$157,500.

Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent required.
