Millennium Space Systems (MSS), a part of Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS), is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Technician Senior – Second Shift to support the Manufacturing team in El Segundo, CA.
Job Summary
The Electro-Mechanical Technician Senior will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks in support of manufacturing of space flight sub-systems and support equipment. This role requires working the second shift.
This position’s internal job code is Electro-Mechanical Technician. Our team is currently hiring for grade 24.
Position Responsibilities
- Electro-Mechanical assembly of PCB assemblies into product chassis
- Assemble Electro-Mechanical assemblies by interpreting blueprints, engineering drawings and specifications, and written assembly and standard operating procedures
- Use precision calibrated tools – torque wrenches, micrometers and calipers
- Perform visual inspection of Electro-Mechanical assemblies to drawings, engineering specifications, and written assembly, integration and test procedures
- Ensure product quality and conformance to specifications
- Document non-conformances and associated rework/repair
- Soldering and reworking of through-hole and SMT components
- Support conformal coat, masking, epoxy application and coating
Security Clearance And Export Control Requirements
This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 (US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee) is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
- High school diploma or GED
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in Electro-Mechanical assembly on high reliability products
- Industry and/or Trade School training
- Working knowledge of ESD, IPC J-STD-001, and IPC-A-610 standards
- Experience with a variety of assembly techniques and tools (e.g., epoxy, thread-locker, torque wrench, soldering iron, microscope)
- 3-5 years of soldering experience
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
- > 5+ years experience building a variety of component-level space products (e.g., avionics boxes, batteries, mechanisms, optics, printed circuit board assemblies, solar arrays)
- IPC J-STD-001 and/or IPC-A-610 certification
- Experience working in at least a 100,000 Class cleanroom environment
- Ability to obtain clearance
- Ability to travel

This role will be on 2nd Shift.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. Summary Pay Range:
Grade 24: $28.56-$45.72.
