$95,797 to $112,710 and $107,886 to $126,971.
Department of Water and Power salary range: $101,831 to $126,511 and $115,758 to $143,821.
Notes- Candidates from the eligible list are normally appointed to vacancies in lower pay grade positions.
- Annual salary starts at the beginning of the pay range. The current range may change. Confirm starting salary with the hiring department before accepting an offer.
A Safety Engineering Associate assists in administering a program for employee safety and accident prevention for a City department or several departments.
Responsibilities (Duties)- Assist in implementation of safety and accident prevention programs across multiple City departments.
- Graduation from an accredited four‑year college or university with a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in environmental and occupational health science, occupational safety, safety engineering, or an allied field;
or - Graduation from an accredited four‑year college or university and two years of full‑time paid professional experience applying health and safety standards and regulations in workplace settings, including safety audits, inspections, program development, and training.

Selection ProcessThe examination consists of an interview evaluating professional and personal qualifications. Interview will assess competencies such as judgment, analytical ability, communication, teamwork, safety focus, and related knowledge.
