The Global Security Team is responsible for the protection of people, assets, and reputation of Mattel. We accomplish this by hiring, training, and developing top security and investigation professionals, implementing effective policies, collaborating with others, and leveraging existing and emerging technologies.

As a Security Shift Supervisor you will support campus and global operations for all incidents that impact Mattel operations, people, physical security, access control, and investigations. You play an important role in protecting Mattel's employees, guests, products, and brands. The ideal candidate has proven leadership abilities, is flexible, collaborative, detail‑oriented, communicative, and skilled in prioritization. This position is located at Mattel's global headquarters in El Segundo, CA.

It is on‑site and includes weekend and holiday work; schedules may vary based on business needs.

• Support Mattel's Global Security Strategy to protect people, assets, and reputation by providing exceptional customer service and consistently applying policies and practices.
• Continually review and update processes and procedures to maintain an effective physical security posture on campus.
• Support on- and off‑site events that Mattel sponsors or participates in.
• Lead site and global security initiatives that support the Mattel Global Security Strategy.
• Ensure incident‑management processes are adhered to and implement mitigating controls post‑incident.
• Drive initiatives that enhance physical security on campus through implementation of new technology and/or updating existing programs.
• Drive employee engagement initiatives that empower a culture of growth, optimism, and wellbeing.
• Manage officers and senior officers on assigned shifts through the employee life cycle: operational direction, delegation, recruiting, scheduling, training, coaching, and performance management.
• Manage the Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) or Security Operations Center (SOC) with strong communication, attention to detail, and timeliness.
• Enforce Mattel Global Security policies and practices to create a safe, secure environment for all employees and visitors.
• Complete security duties and related tasks as defined in the Contingency Operations and SOP manuals under the direction of the Security Leader/Shift Supervisor and Security Manager.
• Complete security patrols on foot, in a vehicle, and digitally to monitor campuses for physical security, safety, and facilities‑related concerns; monitor access control, CCTV, and guard‑tour systems.
  • Perform administrative data entry duties for incident documentation and communications via the Microsoft suite.
  • Ensure adherence to access control standards including employee badge policy, visitor registration, temporary or contract worker check‑ins, and intern badging.
  • Ensure parking‑lot safety through traffic control, parking‑rule enforcement, accident investigations, and emergency call box activations.
• Support IP (Intellectual Property) processes surrounding confidentiality and controlled destruction of IP per Mattel standards.
