Junior Software Engineer (Entry Level)

Join K , Inc. as a Junior Software Engineer on the National Security Solutions team. This role focuses on developing and integrating high‑end space communication systems for the U.S. Space Force. You will work within a multidisciplinary and collaborative systems engineering environment, interfacing with contractors, government civilians, and U.S. Space Force personnel.

• Analyze and develop software prototypes and applications with a multi‑disciplinary team.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle: user story creation, design, development, automated testing, and operational support.
• Design intuitive user interfaces for efficient data management and system oversight.
• Develop visualization features to meet evolving end‑user requirements.
• Implement complex algorithms to deliver optimized solutions for the end user.
• Ensure software maintainability and adherence to user requirements and departmental standards.

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
• BS in Computer Science or Information Systems (or related field with relevant experience).
• 1–3 years of software development experience, including architecture, object‑oriented design, coding, and testing.
• Strong experience with Python, Java, or Go.
• Familiarity with web applications using microservices architecture.
• Experience with Postgre
  
  SQL, MySQL, or similar databases.
• Proficiency with Git Lab or similar version control and CI/CD tools.
• Excellent problem‑solving and research skills.
• Strong interpersonal, oral, written, and presentation skills.

• Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks, such as Angular or React.
• Knowledge of Jira and Confluence.
• Experience with Agile software development methodologies.
• Experience with Docker, AWS or Azure, and Kubernetes.

$84,000–$104,000 annually in California (based on selected candidate’s qualifications and internal parity).
