Diesel Mechanic

HEAVY DIESEL MECHANIC

M.T. Laney Co. Inc. is an established successful construction firm located in Eldersburg, MD. We are searching for an experienced, committed, career-minded Heavy Diesel Mechanic to be part of our growing team.

• Inspect machines, engines, transmissions etc. and run diagnostic test to discover functionality issues.
• Operate hand and power shop tools.
• Always ensures a safe work environment for self and others
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment
• Maintains an accurate schedule and legible record of equipment and vehicle maintenance logs and reports
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Follow all safety policies and use of proper PPE

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Basic math, reading, and writing skills are required (English)
• Must be safety-oriented and exhibit safe work habits
• Heavy diesel mechanic experiences are a must
• Must be able to provide and use a good working set of mechanics tools

• Must be a minimum of 18 years old
• Must have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
• Punctual and reliable; good attendance required
• Knowledge of DOT standards and requirements
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Understand and follow directions from supervisors

• Lift and move up to 75 pounds
• Stand for prolonged amounts of time
• Walk, bend, kneel, and twist
• Willing to work overtime as needed
• Able to work from elevated platforms

• Full-Time, Non-Exempt Position
• Salary based on knowledge, experience, and education

• High school diploma or GED is preferred

• 2+ years’ experience as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic
