Position: Payments Administrator - MOR12098

Job Description

Payments Administrators provide system and payments administration for modules of the Financial Management System (FMS), including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Purchasing Management. Specific areas of responsibility will be identified by the Management Team and may be changed periodically.

Payments Administrators will work with colleagues to maintain a generic, flexible approach to tasks assigned to the Payments team based within Financial Services.

Requirements

To administer FMS and related systems

To train departmental and section users of FMS

To assist with the development of FMS

Handle various enquiries both written and verbal

To work closely with other members of the Payments team to ensure all responsibilities are carried out according to set timescales

The Individual

Experience of working in a busy office environment using relevant technology

Experience in general finance administration

3 SQA Highers at level 3 or above including Maths or equivalent

Working knowledge of computer systems, including Microsoft Office software and computerised ledger systems

Self-confident and self-motivated

Strong customer care skills and focus

Effective organisational and procedural skills including time management

To work on their own initiative when required to specified deadlines

A flexible approach to new working practices and technology

Ability to maintain accuracy when working to tight deadlines

Able to maintain confidentiality

Ability to work as part of a team in order to ensure that the operational demands of processing tasks are met

Ability to use own initiative

Effective communication skills – written and verbal - and ability to relate well with all levels of staff

Willingness to accept direction and delegation

Ability to work flexibly to meet the needs and demands of the service, including new working practices and technology

Ability to work in an open plan office

Ability to work in different offices dependent on service requirements

Starting Salary: £27,671.80

36.25 Hours per week

£14.68 per hour
