Position: Information Governance Records Officer (Temporary) - MOR12023

Job Description

To be part of the Council’s Information Governance (IG) Service and assist the Information Governance Manager & DPO in ensuring compliance with the Council’s IG obligations.

This role will focus on assisting with the Council’s Corporate Information Storage solutions, namely the Closed Records Store(s), with due regard to the Public Records (Scotland) Act 2011 and Sections 53 and 54 of the Local Government etc (Scotland) Act 1994.

This post will lead on a review of the Closed Records Store (CRS) collections, focusing on organising the accessioning, application of retentions and secure destruction of records.

The Individual

Experience of managing data and/or Information Governance and/or Data Protection and/or Records Management

Experience of methodical work requiring attention to detail

SCQF Level 5 or 6, or, 3 Higher Grades or equivalent, preferably including English

Drivers Licence

Ability to undertake own administration using

Microsoft office packages

Self-confident and self-motivated

Organised and adaptable

High level of accuracy in work

Attention to detail

Ability to work on multiple tasks concurrently

Good IT skills

Appreciation and acceptance of, and commitment to, the importance of confidentiality

Effective organisational and time management

Ability to solve complex problems

Willing to accept direction/ delegation

Able to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing

You will be expected to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Moray to meet the operational requirements of the Service. Due to the rural nature of Moray, this is normally undertaken by use of a car/van

Ability to work flexibly to meet the needs and demands of the service

Ability to work in an open plan/shared office

Ability to work in different offices/locations dependent on requirements

Ability to work with physical records and occasionally to work at height

Temporary position for 12 months

Salary: £32,742.45 - £35,061.00

Grade: 6

Hourly Rate:
Starting from £17.37

Hours per week: 21.75 hours
