Job Description
This post supports the development and delivery of strategic and operational communications to press, public and staff via a range of platforms and media, including the production of creative content for social media and web-based platforms.
Requirements- Good understanding of local government.
- Strong background in communications industry
- Managing digital channels.
- Planning and producing high-quality, creative and optimised content for a range of audiences, predominantly for websites and other digital platforms.
- Relevant Degree or equivalent experience in communications/public relations or other relevant discipline (such as journalism)
- Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent writing, creative, IT and web development skills.
- Adaptable, self-motivated and able to work on own initiative.
- Ability to use photographic and filming equipment including gimbal, mics and drone.
- Meticulous attention to detail, ability to proofread with a high degree of accuracy.
- Good knowledge of English, spelling and grammar.
- Excellent written skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Experienced social media manager and creator
- Good understanding of the needs and working practices of print, broadcast and digital media
- Ability to ‘spot a story’
- Calm and decisive under pressure and in emergency events
- Ability to work as a member of a team working in a hybrid way, taking the lead on areas of expertise and guiding others when necessary.
- Ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to focus on agreed objectives, to ensure they are achieved within agreed timescales.
- Good track record of inter-agency collaboration, group work and management.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality when dealing with or advising sensitive and/or confidential issues.
- Proven ability to plan and manage workload, work to tight deadlines and under pressure.
- Experience of working in a confidential environment.
- Driving Licence to undertake site visits, engagement sessions and cover stories across Moray – pool vehicle can be provided
Closing Date: 7 August 2026
Salary: £40,056.25
Hourly Rate: £21.25 per hour
Hours Per Week: 36.25 hours
