Special Education Teacher – Middle School

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year to support middle school students in a collaborative and structured environment. This role includes a combination of co‑teaching in general education classrooms and pull‑out instructional support for students with disabilities.

• Start Date: July 23, 2026
• End Date: May 21, 2027
• Hours: 37.5 per week (7.5 hours per day)
• Contract Length: 39 weeks
• Setting: Middle School (Supplemental Support)
• Caseload: Up to ~33 students

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Provide differentiated instruction tailored to student needs
• Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusion
• Monitor and track student progress and maintain documentation
• Conduct IEP meetings and maintain communication with families and staff
• Support students academically, behaviorally, and socially

• Active South Carolina Special Education Teaching Certification in one of the following:
  • Multi‑Categorical
  • Behavioral Disabilities
  • Emotional Disabilities
• Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s preferred)
• Knowledge of IDEA compliance and special education regulations
• Strong classroom management and collaboration skills
• Out‑of‑state candidates welcome if eligible for South Carolina licensure reciprocity and have begun the process
