About the Role

As a Process Engineer, you'll help shape the future performance of our Malt Distilling operations. Working within a collaborative technical team, you'll use data, insight, and innovation to drive efficiency, sustainability, and operational excellence across our network of 30 distilleries and 4 maltings. Partnering closely with operational and technical teams, you'll lead improvement initiatives, overcome difficult obstacles, and help unlock breakthrough performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive safety, operational, energy, and environmental improvements across Malt Distilling
  • Lead and support continuous improvement and transformational projects.
  • Use data and technical expertise to find opportunities and solve complex challenges.
  • Champion structured problem-solving and root cause analysis to improve performance.
  • Coach and develop stakeholders, building technical capability and a growth mindset.
  • Encourage ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement across teams.
  • Identify and lead multi-functional problem-solving activities for systemic issues.
  • Benchmark internally and externally to uncover new ideas and technical insights.
  • Build strong partnerships across Operations, Engineering, Technical, Procurement, and Risk & Governance.
  • Role model high standards and a relentless focus on performance excellence.
  • Play a key role in leading and contributing to process risk assessments, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant operations across our production processes
About You

You're a passionate and driven Process Engineer who combines technical expertise with a collaborative, people-focused approach. Energised by continuous improvement, you thrive on solving complex challenges, building strong partnerships and delivering impactful results. You'll play a key role in shaping the future of malt distilling, inspiring teams and driving operational excellence.

Key Skills, Experience & Qualifications
  • Master's Degree (or equivalent) in Chemical Engineering.
  • Experience leading and delivering projects within operational or multi-functional teams.
  • Strong collaborator engagement, communication and partnership-building skills.
  • Experience using statistical analysis tools to drive data-led decision making.
  • Proven ability to coach and influence others to improve quality, efficiency and performance.
  • Passion for continuous improvement and developing both people and processes.
  • Lean and/or Six Sigma experience or qualification is advantageous.
  • Full clean driving licence with at least one year's driving experience.
