Location

Elgin, Scotland

About the Role

You will support a group of 24‑26 year old individuals moving into their own homes in Elgin. They will require support to transition from family homes to independent living and to learn new skills, explore opportunities and develop their confidence. Support will be provided on a 1:1 and 2:1 basis during day, evening and night shifts. You will enable them to participate in community activities, such as walking and attending local groups and clubs, and pursue interests like sports and the outdoors.

Responsibilities
  • Provide personal care and assistance to clients, ensuring a safe and respectful environment.
  • Teach and support new skills that promote independence, such as cooking, managing finances, and using public transport.
  • Plan and participate in activities that enhance social engagement and well‑being.
  • Implement care plans and record progress in line with statutory regulations and organisational policies.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to review and adapt care provision.
  • Support clients during transitions and provide emotional encouragement.

  • Willingness to undertake training, including the GROWN learner journey and subject‑specific modules such as Moving & Positioning of People, Acquired Brain Injury Specialism, Epilepsy medication administration, Visual Impairment and ADHD.
  • Prior experience as a support worker or care assistant is advantageous but not mandatory; lived experience or caring for relatives is also valued.
