Position: LR251694 - Healthcare support worker (Physiotherapy and OT)

Health Care support worker

(Physiotherapy / Occupational Therapy)

Dr Gray’s Hospital, Elgin

Hours: 36 hours per week

Contract:
Permanent

The Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy Team has a vacancy for a Band 3 support worker based in

Dr Gray’s Hospital, with out-reach into the community.

This is an interesting and varied position, working closely with Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists throughout Dr Gray’s and in patient’s homes. The aim is to work from within the emergency department, getting people home early in a supported and safe manner.

Once patients have been assessed by a therapist you will help them to regain their previous abilities, or learn new ways of achieving their goals. This is usually done individually, but can be in small groups. If a patient requires two people to treat them you will help the physiotherapist during that patient’s therapy.

You will also be responsible for administrative tasks such as using computers, telephoning other departments and recording your treatments in patient’s notes.

The hours will be negotiable and we would welcome people looking for part time work, late afternoon and weekend shifts.

You will have access to training on the job, but a health or fitness background with computer literacy is desirable. Any health or care experience, preferably with some assessed qualification is desirable.
