Our work matters to millions. It’ll matter to you too. Join our Power Transmission and Distribution team as a Site Based Senior Project Manager on the EHV Cabling Operational Team based in the Elgin area and you’ll be a big part of fascinating, complex, varied and meaningful work.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, manage and deliver the project(s) assigned.
- Deliver the Power T&D business strategy and objectives on tenders and outperform on key success measures.
- Manage commercial and business risks to achieve targets.
- Understand the relevant commercial terms and conditions for each project and tender.
- Lead and inspire a multi‑skilled team, set tone for large infrastructure projects, and take charge of all aspects of project delivery – from initiation, planning and design, to delivery, monitoring, commissioning and handover.
- Be a critical link in connecting communities and building sustainably.
- Build relationships with clients and other stakeholders.
- Show commercial acumen to control costs and keep projects in budget.
- Project delivery experience to meet high quality and safety standards.
- Experience in Power/Utilities within large infrastructure projects.
- Management and delivery of Overhead Line, Cabling or Substation schemes up to 400kV preferable.
- Strong people management skills.
- Proven track record in tendering and managing complex projects, including sub‑contractors.
- Commercial awareness with knowledge of both budgetary and financial control.
- Excellent relationship management skills.
- Ability to work across conflicting interest groups to develop solutions to complex operational and commercial problems.
- Comfortable with ambiguity, able to tease out sensitive issues and lead cross‑functional teams towards solutions.
- Experience of supporting delivery of HV Cabling schemes up to 400kV preferable.
- Strong communication skills to manage, mentor and empower your team.
- The confidence and credibility to liaise with business leaders.
- Knowledge of standard forms of contracts and performance evaluation techniques.
- Experience of managing commercial and business risks.
