We are currently looking for a Multi Skilled Operative to join our friendly team based at Tarmac Cloddach Sand & Gravel Quarry, Elgin, near Inverness.
The key element of this role is loader operator/ static plant operator and the site is easily accessible from Elgin, Forres, Kinloss, Lossiemouth and the surrounding areas. We are committed to creating a dynamic and inclusive environment and value diverse backgrounds.
- Report to the Section Manager as part of a team producing dry aggregates material for the construction industry.
- Deliver best in class Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality performance for plant operations.
- Perform operational tasks including working with aggregates on site and operating machinery (including dumpers, loading shovels, forklift and blocking operation).
- Carry out day-to-day maintenance of the static plant and maintain high levels of housekeeping.
- Receive training and operate static plant operations to help drive plant optimisation.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure customers receive good quality material and on-time deliveries.
- Load shovel (mobile plant) – preferred but not essential.
- Maintain and promote a culture of zero harm and behavioural safety; comply with health and safety measures around the site.
- Perform additional duties as required with full training provided.
- Proven experience, preferably in a similar aggregates environment or industrial/factory operative role.
- Good communication skills and a desire to develop both operative and supervisory capabilities.
- Knowledge of the industry, plant and Quarry operations; previous experience as loader operator/static plant operator is preferred.
- Ability to be flexible and work effectively as part of a Quarry Operative team.
- Self-motivated with ability to motivate others in the team.
- Knowledge of risk assessments relevant to operative roles; knowledge of SSOW (HIRA) and permit systems preferred but not essential.
- Compliance with company policies, targets, goals and standards; good timekeeping and flexible working approach.
- Full UK Driving Licence and IT literacy.
- Shovel Licence – preferred but not essential.
