Automotive Dealership Service Porter - McGrath Honda of Elgin

Alliance Dealer Solutions is hiring Service Porters for our automotive dealership partner, McGrath Honda of Elgin. This role offers opportunities for advancement for customer service-minded individuals.

Overview

Join our team as a Service Porter. You will play a crucial role in the service department, ensuring the smooth operation of the dealership. A Service Porter is a "Jack of all trades" and is essential for maintaining an efficient and organized service drive. Demonstrating friendliness, a willingness to help, and practicing safe driving techniques are key to excelling in this role.

Responsibilities
  • Vehicle Preparation:
    Prep the vehicle immediately after the greeter has greeted the customer to ensure a smooth workflow.
  • Vehicle Movement:
    Move vehicles to the front of the service drive to maintain an organized area; practice safe driving and perform key control.
  • Vehicle Relocation:
    Move service vehicles to designated locations (detail, service lot, shop, tinting area). Record the spot number and place the key in its proper location (never in pockets).
  • Vehicle Maintenance:
    Ensure vehicles are well-maintained while in our care and practice safe driving techniques.
  • Vehicle Delivery:
    For pickup, ensure the vehicle is clean, free of indicator lights, and that radio and climate controls are set appropriately.
  • Other Duties as Assigned:
    Perform other tasks as required to ensure smooth dealership operation.

    Move quickly when not operating the vehicle, and always drive safely.

    Adhere to safety rules discussed in safety huddles.
  • Stay Present:
    Remain focused and attentive while handling customer cars.

    Continuously understand the site and its operations to improve efficiency.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: GED or high school diploma required.
  • Valid Driver's License:
    Required for moving and positioning vehicles safely and legally.
  • Age Requirement: 18 years or older.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, and run for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
