Position: Broadcast Director (Golf Broadcast)

CGN+ is seeking a Broadcast Director to lead livestream golf broadcasts at upcoming events. The Director is responsible for the on-air look and flow of the show, calling cameras, replays, and graphics in real time. This role is a great fit for recent graduates who directed student or college broadcasts, as well as early-career directors or technical directors who are ready to take the lead on live sports.

Selected candidates will join the CGN+ crew roster and be contacted as events are scheduled. Candidates must be 21 years or older.

Responsibilities
  • Direct live golf broadcasts from the onsite control room or, on rare occasions, a production truck.
  • Call camera shots, replays, graphics, and transitions throughout the broadcast.
  • Work with the Producer and the CGN+ Broadcast and Communications team to plan show format, rundown, and coverage strategy (two to three meetings in advance).
  • Lead pre-event production meetings and brief camera operators, replay operators, and crew on assignments and positions.
  • Plan camera placement and coverage across the course.
  • Communicate clearly with crew over headset during live production.
  • Make fast decisions to follow key players, shots, and storylines as play develops.
  • Troubleshoot technical and workflow issues during the broadcast.
  • Review broadcasts afterward and provide feedback to improve future CGN+ events.
Requirements & Skills
  • Experience directing or technical directing live productions through college broadcasts, student media, local TV, or streaming (at least 1–2 years); live sports experience required.
  • Working knowledge of switchers, intercom systems, and live production workflows (e.g., Ross, Grass Valley, Blackmagic ATEM, Tri Caster, or vMix).
  • Solid understanding of golf, including course layout, pace of play, and how to follow multiple groups.
  • Ability to lead and communicate calmly with a crew under pressure.
  • Excellent timing, visual storytelling, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple camera feeds and replay sources at once.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work long shifts, including early mornings and full tournament days.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to event locations.
  • Degree (or current enrollment) in broadcasting, film, media production, or a related field is a plus.
  • Valid driver's license required.
