The Surgical Unit at NHS Grampian, Dr Gray’s Hospital wishes to recruit 1 Locum Consultant General Surgeon to join a team of 2 Consultant General Surgeons and 2 Specialist Doctors. This is a full‑time position (10 PA’s). Dr Gray’s Hospital is situated in Elgin, the county town of Moray. The surrounding area is considered to be of outstanding natural beauty. This post offers a unique opportunity to practice surgery in an area with a high quality of life, excellent schools, affordable housing and superb recreational facilities.

• Elective and emergency general surgery, including paediatrics and urology.
• Provide surgical services within the hospital and at selected community hospitals.
• Work in close association with Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, a tertiary referral and major trauma centre.
• Support teaching for medical students and trainees.

• Full registration with the GMC and licence to practise. (Licence must be in place prior to starting.)
• Breadth of experience in elective and emergency general surgery, including paediatrics and urology.
• Experience with community hospital pathways and tertiary centre referrals.
