Job Summary:The position of Spartan Leader is one where student leaders can make a meaningful contribution to new students attending Elgin Community College. Spartan Leaders help new students make positive and welcoming transitions to ECC, assist new students navigate through their first year. Additionally, Spartan Leaders will assist with the Office of First Year Programs and Student Life events such as:
Welcome weeks, The Big Event, Passport Blitzes, New Student Convocation and Campus Jam, Campus Tours, and much more. Spartan Leaders are well trained and informed about procedures, policies and resources regarding Elgin Community College.
- Currently enrolled in at least six (6) ECC credit hours
- Good academic standing (min. 2.5 GPA)
- Positive attitude and enthusiasm about ECC
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills and the potential to develop these skills
Other duties as assigned that pertain to the job description
Physical Demands:Light (up to 25 lbs occasionally or 10 lbs frequently)
Visual Acuity:Close visual acuity (e.g. computer, assembly)
Work Environment:Moderate noise
