Schedule

Hours vary and may include day, evening and weekend responsibilities. Courses are taught in a classroom setting and may include a lab component. Please indicate your availability in your cover letter.

Job Summary

Adjunct teaching faculty provide instruction aligned with the college's strategic goals and evaluate students' progress to facilitate achievement of their educational goals.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Journeyman (or similar) status with 4,000 hours of documented work experience.
• Knowledge of PLC's, hydraulics, pneumatics and electrical for industrial applications.
• The ideal candidate for this position must possess mechanical and troubleshooting knowledge and skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical operation, process and control systems including both building electrical and machine electrical panels.

Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Associate's Degree in related subject with 4,000 documented work experience or, Bachelor's Degree in related subject with 2,000 documented work experience.

Essential Duties

• Deliver Instruction
  • 1. Conduct assigned classes and/or labs
  • 2. Prepare lessons
  • 3. Provide course syllabus (which shall include grading standards, attendance policies, classroom behavioral expectations, course outline and contact information)
  • 4. Verify student enrollment and submit grade sheets
  • 5. Prepare labs (if a lab is involved)
  • 6. Enforce lab safety procedures
• Evaluate Student Progress
  • 1. Keep accurate record of student performance
  • 2. Provide students with timely feedback
• Provide Student Assistance
  • 1. Maintain office hours and voice-mail/e-mail communication
  • 2. Refer students to student support services
  • 3. Accommodate special needs students
