We are seeking highly skilled and dedicated Special Education Teachers
. This is a Life Skills Teacher position at our Day School with openings in Geneva, Elgin and Bloomingdale, IL
.
The starting salary is $61,500 - $65,000 based on qualifications and experience. After your first year the salary will increase by $5,000 ($66,500 - $70,000 based on qualifications and experience). Additionally, all Teachers will receive a $3,000 contract incentive bonus each year after the first year.

Who We Are
Marklund Day School is a well-known and respected nonpublic school serving students ages Pre K-22 who come to our school’s program through partnerships with various Chicago suburban school districts. Our Day School is a program of Marklund, a nonprofit organization that provides residential, therapeutic and educational services to children and adults with profound developmental disabilities. Marklund Day School provides an environment conducive to learning through specialized curriculum, positive behavioral interventions, and individualized student support.
The Marklund Life Skills Program is designed to provide specialized support to students who have learning and developmental disabilities and those identified on the Autism Spectrum.
Our highly sensory-driven program features:
- Deliver individualized instruction to students based upon their individual needs
- Provide clear, consistent structure for the classroom, ensuring that the academic, social, and emotional needs of each student are met
- Draft, create and monitor IEPs for assigned students in classroom
- Supervise and provide feedback for paraprofessionals
- Teach during our ESY (Extended School Year)
