HS Interventionist

The Interventionist provides targeted academic support to students assigned to intervention. The interventionist works directly with students to increase engagement, lesson completion, and academic growth while monitoring progress toward individualized learning goals.

Duties / Responsibilities:

• Monitors student participation, engagement, lesson completion, time on task, pass rates, and academic progress within intervention tools, using diagnostic data to identify students needing additional support.
• Provides targeted academic support during designated intervention periods to address individual skill needs and increase successful completion of assigned interventions.
• Supports students in setting goals, developing independence and persistence, and taking ownership of their academic growth.
• Regularly reviews student progress, identifies barriers to participation or completion, and works with students and staff to develop appropriate interventions and strategies.
• Maintains accurate records of student participation, progress, interventions, and outcomes and communicates relevant information to teachers, administrators, counselors, and other appropriate staff.
• Collaborates with classroom teachers, intervention teams, and MTSS teams to connect learning to identify student needs, classroom performance, and additional support.
• Supports consistent expectations and routines for intervention implementation and uses progress-monitoring data to evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and celebrate student growth.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education:

Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) required. Bachelor's degree in education or related field preferred. Bilingual - Spanish/English (written/verbal) preferred.

Experience / Knowledge:

Experience working with middle and/or high school students in an academic intervention or support setting. Familiarity with MTSS, academic interventions, and progress-monitoring practices. Ability to analyze student performance data and use data to identify students requiring additional support. Strong organizational skills and ability to monitor the progress of multiple students. Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, administrators, counselors, and other student-support staff.

Strong computer skills and ability to learn and utilize district student-data and instructional platforms.

Physical Demands:

This position operates in a professional school environment. The role routinely uses standard classroom and office equipment. Ability to move throughout the school and work with students in individual and small-group settings.

Terms of Employment:

Hours and calendar days determined by program needs and available funding. Hourly Instructional Rate: $33.53/hr
