The Goddard School® located at 2496 Bushwood Drive Elgin, IL 60124 is seeking an energetic, caring Part-Time Assistant Teacher to join our team! This role is ideal for high school and college students who enjoy working with young children and want a meaningful job in a positive, supportive environment.
At our School, we put our teachers first because they put our students first. You'll work alongside a Lead Teacher to create engaging activities, support classroom routines, and help maintain a safe, nurturing space for every child.
Responsibilities- Assist the Lead Teacher with age-appropriate lesson plans and hands-on activities
- Support children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development
- Help prepare classroom materials and maintain a clean, organized environment
- Provide individualized attention and help children feel welcomed and supported
- Assist with daily communication to families about classroom activities
- Follow all health, safety, and licensing guidelines
- Support daily routines such as snack time, playtime, and transitions
- High school diploma or currently enrolled in high school/college
- Friendly, patient, and compassionate with young children
- Able to work independently and take initiative
- Basic understanding of child development (training provided)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. when needed
- Must pass required state background checks and meet licensing requirements
- Flexible part-time scheduling that fits around school commitments
