The Project Engineer is responsible for designing and drafting food processing and packaging equipment, plant layouts, and parts. This role also establishes budgets and timelines for capital projects and manages systems installations.

• Designs, redesigns, or modifies required areas and implements changes to resolve problems and improve equipment and system performance and reliability.
• Prepares completed layouts for final equipment and system designs based on simple sketches and/or vendor‑supplied drawings for all company locations.
• Manages new equipment purchases by working closely with vendors to ensure equipment meets manufacturing requirements. This includes performing Factory Acceptance Tests and other related activities.
• Collaborates with engineers, managers, and facility staff to address design needs.
• Oversees internal projects by supporting Maintenance and Fabrication Shop employees involved in new installations, retrofits, and upgrades.
• Evaluates production equipment and related systems to identify opportunities for optimization.
• Monitors project costs and prepares progress summaries for the executive team.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field preferred
• Five or more years of experience in engineering and project management
• Industry knowledge in the food and/or nut sector highly preferred
• Proficient in AutoCAD
• Proficient in Solid Works
• Experience with Microsoft Project preferred

• AutoCAD certification

• Ability to operate standard office equipment
• Strong project and personnel supervision skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Project, Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Ability to be on foot for up to four hours per day and navigate large facilities
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
