Service Mechanical Engineer

Job Summary

This role is responsible for installing, troubleshooting and maintaining Automation equipment. Servicing troubleshooting mechanical assemblies, identifying, analyzing and repairing product failures as well as order and replacing parts as needed. Determine and recommend which products or services best fit the customer’s needs.

• Perform machine construction and shipping activities in-house and/or at customer facilities.
• Perform retrofits and upgrades at customer site.
• Respond to service calls promptly.
• Assemble components and sub-assemblies according to engineering drawings.
• Design, fabricate and modify parts as required.
• Perform set-up and alignment of the system and subassemblies.
• Perform machine debug activities.
• Perform final debug, FAT, SAT, disassemble and reassemble automation lines.
• Develop professional relationships with customers.
• Provide equipment training to customers.
• Assist engineering team with design problems and suggest improvements.
• Detect unusual conditions, defective material, and operating difficulties.
• Represent IMA Automation in a professional manner.
• Adhere to all IMA and customer safety regulations.
• Ability to travel 50-75% of the time.
• Other duties as assigned.
