We are looking for a dynamic and seasoned Senior Tax Manager to join our progressive Accounting and Finance team. As a Senior Tax Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing and directing all aspects of our organization's tax policies and objectives. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local tax regulations and for developing tax‑saving strategies in line with the company's goals.
This is a permanent position that requires a candidate with a strong background in tax laws and regulations and a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
- Manage and oversee all aspects of the company's tax functions, including planning, compliance, and audit defense.
- Develop and implement strategic tax planning for all necessary federal and state taxes.
- Research and evaluate tax laws, regulations, and trends to identify potential impacts on the company's financial performance.
- Lead and coordinate tax audits and ensure that the company is in compliance with all tax regulations.
- Advise management on the impact of new laws on tax liabilities and on the potential for tax planning opportunities.
- Review and approve corporate and individual tax returns and associated reports.
- Collaborate with other departments to integrate tax considerations into company‑wide strategies.
- Manage and develop a team of tax professionals to ensure excellence in service delivery.
- Maintain and update the company's tax database and prepare accurate reports for senior management.
- Foster relationships with external auditors and tax consultants to ensure a seamless audit process and stay abreast of tax law changes.
- Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a tax management role, preferably in the Accounting and Finance industry.
- In‑depth knowledge of tax laws, regulations, and the ability to apply these in a complex business environment.
- Proven experience with tax planning, compliance, and audit defense.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a high‑performing tax team.
- Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret tax laws and regulations and develop tax‑saving strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex tax issues clearly and concisely.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and to meet tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in tax software and other accounting tools.
- CPA or other relevant certification is a plus.
