OverviewThe Financial Analyst plays a key role in supporting financial operations by performing detailed cost and profitability analyses. This position is responsible for evaluating new and existing business opportunities, preparing financial forecasts, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely financial data.
* Position is 4 days a week on-site*
- Collaborates with internal departments and external partners to gather financial information, with a focus on costing for new and existing business opportunities.
- Conducts profit and loss analyses on business proposals and performs variance analysis to identify trends and discrepancies.
- Works closely with procurement buyers to collect commodity and packaging data, and updates forecasts based on this information.
- Prepares tolling documentation for customers to support pricing and contractual agreements.
- Updates costing assumptions annually, including labor, overhead, and changeover costs. Assists Marketing and R&D teams with formula revisions aimed at cost reduction.
- Monitors actual financial results against plans, forecasts, and budgets to ensure alignment with business goals.
- Prepares and reviews monthly financial forecasts across various business segments.
- Collects and updates raw nut cost data for major commodities and generates weekly commodity reports for management review.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field is required.
- Minimum of three years of relevant experience in financial analysis or accounting.
- Strong understanding of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- CPA certification is preferred but not required.
- Solid grasp of financial statements and accounting principles.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively across departments.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Skilled in researching complex accounting issues and documenting clear, well-supported conclusions using relevant accounting literature.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively across all levels of the organization and with external stakeholders.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros, and other analytical tools.
- Ability to quickly learn and master general ledger systems and related financial reporting software.
