Function / Position Summary
The Health Services Specialist provides operational, communication, and organizational support to the Health Services Department. This role ensures smooth day-to-day functioning of departmental processes, coordinates critical health-related services and equipment, and serves as a liaison among staff, families, outside agencies, and the Health Services Supervisor. The Specialist assists with compliance, communication, and project coordination.
Job Duties / Responsibilities- Reviews communications and requests of the Health Services Office/Department to determine communications and requests that need immediate responses and those that require the Health Services Supervisors to address.
- Meet with and interact with employees, and parents/guardians in routine situations while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
- Coordination of emergency equipment and supplies for Health Services
- Assist Health Services Supervisor with coordinating Homebound Tutoring schedules and legally required paperwork.
- Assist Health Services Supervisor with communication with legal regarding contracts.
- Assist with non-administrative level family concerns.
- Assist with Contact tracing processes and mitigations, and assist with communication with local health departments.
- Coordinate with outside agencies to ensure compliance is met with emergency requirements (i.e. AED and AED monitoring system, CPR/AED classes, Stop the Bleed, CERP).
- Collect department data requested by Health Services Supervisors.
- Assist with large departmental projects.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree in health field preferred.
- RN license preferred
- At least 3 years of experience working in a health-related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Apps
- Excellent customer service skills are required.
- Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work on a computer/telephone over the major portion of the day.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
- This is a 12-Month position. Salary and benefits as established by the Board of Education.
- 8 hours per day
- The full salary range for this position is $41,142.40-$61,713.60. Our typical practice is to hire in between the minimum and midpoint.
