Registered Behavior Technician
Marklund Day School is a non-public, state-certified school that partners with local school districts to provide a highly specialized education program for individuals ages 3 through 21 with medical, developmental, and physical disabilities.
We are seeking dedicated Registered Behavior Technicians to join our diverse team in Elgin and be part of our life-changing mission. The hours are 8 AM – 4 PM, Monday through Friday. Compensation ranges from $23.25 – $24.25 per hour, based on qualifications and experience. We are hiring immediately and offer paid training.
Responsibilities- Document all goals and programs, including daily participation records after task completion.
- Observe and manage student behavior according to approved procedures.
- Implement behavior management techniques to support students.
- Work directly with students one-on-one and in groups as outlined in IEPs.
- Assist teachers with classwork and daily care of students with special needs.
- Maintain classroom equipment in clean, safe condition for all students.
- Provide training and coaching to paraprofessionals on behavior techniques and implementation.
- Successfully pass PCM (behavior management) training.
- Illinois Paraprofessional Educator license required (can be obtained within 30 days of hire). Candidates must have at least a high school diploma or GED.
- Registered Behavior Technician license required.
- Must be able to perform essential job functions and meet functional and environmental requirements.
