Mill Operator - 2nd Shift at Combined Metals Company, LLC

- Operate machinery to reduce the gauge of metal coils according to customer and manufacturing specifications.
- Load coils into the mill and remove scrap and paper waste from the process.
- Remove finished coils and physically lift and change work rolls as necessary.
- Serve as the data entry clerk to properly label and tag all metal coils for identification.
- Ensure the overall quality of each coil processed through the mill.
- Promote a safety culture by adhering to all plant safety policies and procedures.
- Read work orders and other instructions to determine product specifications and material requirements.
- Set up, operate, and tend to machines that reduce the gauge of metal coils.
- Perform daily checklist tasks and operate machinery to move metal coils.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by removing scrap and other waste, checking machines, and identifying potential hazards.
- Participate in training and certification programs as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Manufacturing experience preferred.
- Sufficient ability to maintain records and reports.
- Ability to read blueprints and use measuring instruments.
- Working knowledge of measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.).
- Understanding of production procedures.
- Analytical skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Teamwork and communication skills.
- Adherence to health and safety regulations (e.g., constant use of protective gear).
