We are looking for a Production Inspector for our Elgin facility
. In this role you will work with a variety of customers to understand their ongoing product needs and translate those needs into workable specifications for teammates to follow. In performing your daily tasks, the individual will draw upon training and experience to make important front‑end and back‑end processing decisions. As part of your primary responsibilities, this individual will also ensure that once the customers’ products have been processed they are inspected for quality, re‑packaged, and shipped accurately.

- Interact with customers and co-workers in a ‘customer-friendly’ manner.
- Receive and inspect customer product for processing.
- Establish product process sequence.
- Inspect finished product.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities.
- Learn new skills and cross‑train into various departments.
- Act as a member of the monthly ‘Quality Council’.
- Open to cross‑trained areas of production.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proficient ordering supplies via the Internet.
- Experience with MS Word and Internet Explorer.
- Knowledge of industrial cutting tools (e.g.; drills, etc.) preferred, but not required.
- Strong work ethic, be high‑energy, and detailed‑oriented.
- Able to lift 30 lbs.
Oerlikon is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the current compensation range for this position, which is $19.00 to $21.00 per hour. Some positions within Oerlikon may also offer eligibility to participate in a discretionary incentive program. The salary of the finalist(s) selected for the role will be based on a variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to internal equity, job location, work experience, education, training, certifications, licenses, etc.
Therefore, as compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each individual, it is likely that not all applicants will be hired at the highest end of the listed compensation range. Our total compensation package goes beyond base compensation and will include a competitive benefits package starting with 2 weeks paid time off accrued on a monthly basis, 12 holidays, 48 hours personal/sick time (exception for NY where we follow State law), medical, dental, vision, 401(k), holidays, pet insurance and tuition reimbursement all effective day one of hire.
