This is a Full-Time Support Staff position at grade 10, with an annual salary range of $35,557 to $43,048. The salary offer will be based on education and experience, in alignment with the College's compensation philosophy and the current Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), if applicable.

Job Summary:
An employee in this classification performs work of routine difficulty performing grounds maintenance, landscaping and snow removal. Work is distinguished by the ability to operate college vehicles that require a CDL license. General supervision is received from the assigned manager.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with a minimum of 2 years experience in snow removal, grounds and parking lot maintence or equivalent combination of training and experience.Must posess and maintain a valid Illinois Commercial Drivers License with Air Brake endorsement.Pre-employment DOT drug panel test required, with the ability to maintain compliance.Good knowledge of routine vehicle and grounds equipment preventive maintenance.Good knowledge of lawn, tree, and plant care and the ability to select the proper trees, shrubs, and plants to be used in various locations.Working skills to operate the following equipment, Dump truck/skid steer/Wheel end loader/ Service Equipment/Roller/Tractors/Chainsaws/Pulverizer/Slit seeder/aerator/brush hog/Disc/Fertilizer spreaders/Chipper/Commercial mower/chemical sprayers/rotor-tillers/Forklift-Paint striper-Irrigation equipment and pumps/Sod cutters/Aerial lift/power augers/Trailers/Gill/and all landscaping equipment and tractor attachments.Working skills to design, lay-out, and construct landscaped areas.Working skill in organizing work to meet established deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.Working skill in interpersonal interaction to be applied to a variety of individuals with differing education, ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds.Working skills in verbal and written communication.Working skill in operating a personal computer, applicable software and peripheral equipment as well as learning and adapting to new and updated programs and technology.Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends when required by the department's needs.Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
ISA certified arborist.Essential Duties:
Operate and maintain all grounds equipment used in the Grounds Department for lawn care and landscaping for the purpose of keeping the proper aesthetic appearance of the College grounds. Monitor and report bulk salt levels and contact vendor for replenishment.Perform parking lot and sidewalk maintenance which includes, crack sealing/pot hole patching/spot replacement/sealing/snow removal and salting to the extent that will ensure that conditions of the campus remain accessible by the public, staff, students, administration, and faculty.Operate and maintain all larger college-owned vehicles which require a CDL to drive.
