Quality Inspector Position Overview
The Quality Inspector inspects products for dimensional characteristics and compliance with specifications. This role involves meticulous attention to detail, adherence to quality control procedures, and effective communication with relevant stakeholders to address and resolve quality issues.
Essential Functions- Ensuring Thunderbird product quality.
- Complete all lab work and paperwork.
- Participate in Internal ISO 9001 Audits.
- Verify products are packaged according to specifications.
- Read and interpret specifications on part prints.
- Perform incoming inspection on component parts and raw materials.
- Perform startup, in process, and final inspections on injection‑molded parts using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, smartscope, CMM, and comparator.
- Initiate non‑conformance reports as required.
- Perform other duties that may be assigned.
- Proven experience as a quality inspector or similar role.
- Ability to distinguish between part numbers and sizes.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret procedures and work instructions.
- Ability to carry out instructions in written, oral or diagram form.
- Ability to write legibly.
- Ability to effectively describe product quality information to appropriate personnel.
- Ability to use inspection, test and measurement equipment.
- Knowledge of basic math.
- Ability to read and write in English;
Spanish is a plus.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- The employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts.
- Frequently required lifting and/or moving up to 30 pounds.
- Frequently required standing, bending, squatting, and reaching with hands and arms.
- Regularly required to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to use hand tools.
- Ability to read applicable instructions.
