Basic Function: Has the responsibility for ensuring product quality and has the authority to stop production to solve quality problems

Tasks:

• Lead the activities of the Quality Assurance Team to achieve quality goals.
• Communicate to the Quality Manager any concerns or issues regarding production, quality or people.
• Train Quality Assurance Inspectors in best practices to carry out processes, policies and procedures.
• Performs inspections using CMM.
• Disposition nonconforming parts and communicates by completing all necessary documentation.
• Maintain calibration schedule of gages and carry out calibrations when applicable.
• Resolve inspector or operator concerns on questionable parts.
• Assist in preparing for QMS and Customer Audits.
• Assist with PPAP submissions, including gather Layout and Capability Data.
• All other duties as assigned by supervisor

Skills:

• Ability to communicate in English.
• Basic understanding GD&T and reading blueprints.
• Familiar with inspection techniques and bench gage equipment such as micrometers, dial indicators, drop gages, optical comparators, etc.
• Familiar with use and application of SPC charts

Experience and

Education:

• Minimum of 1 years experience in quality capacity.
• Minimum of 1 years experience in a machining environment
• Formal calibration training recommended.

Essential

Physical Requirements:

• Physical ability to do work requiring frequent stooping and bending.
• Physical strength to lift and carry 25 pounds frequently.
• Visual acuity (corrected) to read directions and prints and to inspect machined parts closely to ensure that they meet specifications.
