General Summary of Duties:
Food preparation and execution of all food items.
Typical Physical/Mental Demands:
Requires prolonged standing; requires bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching from floor level to six (6) feet; requires lifting up to fifty (50) pounds; requires pushing and pulling up to one hundred (100) pounds; requires normal sense of smell, taste, touch and sound; ability to see and hear; requires eye/hand coordination and manual dexterity; requires the ability to distinguish letters figures or symbols;
requires the use of electrical equipment and sharp utensils; communicates directly with guests, management and staff in English; understands and complies with policies and procedures, job description, and other instructions.

Working Conditions:
Work is performed in a limited accessed area; work involves chemical usage and the handling of sharp utensils and standard kitchen equipment; ability to tolerate varying conditions of noise level, temperature, illumination and air quality, including various food smells.
- 1. Understand and adhere to Grand Victoria Casino and Food and Beverage standards, policies and procedures.
- 2. Obtain a basic understanding of the Internal Control System (ICS) and Minimum Internal Control Standards (MICS).
- 3. Ability to comply with and practice the Grand Victoria Casino’s Family Style Service Standards.
- 4. Confer with food preparation personnel to plan menus and related activities.
- 5. Utilize the proper preparation method for all food orders.
- 6. Maintain the responsibility for the execution of all food preparation for shift.
- 7. Maintain the responsibility for all cleanliness, safety and sanitation for assigned area.
- 8. Ensure food quality is at the highest standard, cooked and delivered on time.
- 9. Utilize the “FIFO” method for all items used in the area.
- 10. Perform all other tasks that may be assigned in the future.
Ability to read, write and speak in English; ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written, oral or diagram instructions; establish and maintain an effective working relationship with IGB, management, staff and co-workers; ability to perform basic math; team oriented; enjoys working with and assisting/servicing people; working knowledge of carving and all kitchen equipment; ability to work any shift.
Qualifications:High school diploma/GED preferred, as well as a culinary apprenticeship or an Associate’s degree in Culinary Arts is preferred, 2 to 3 years related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Illinois Sanitation Certification
Certificate/License:Level 3 Occupational Illinois Gaming Board License;
Illinois Sanitation Certification.
$16.50 per hour (Entry Level)
