Sales Representative, Business Development
Oldcastle Infrastructure, a CRH company, is seeking an Outside Sales Representative (OSR) to develop and maintain relationships with current and potential customers, while meeting or exceeding sales targets. The OSR will work with contractors to deliver quality proposals and support the company’s sales efforts.
Job Location- Hybrid position located at our Elgin, IL or Romeoville, IL offices.
- Become the subject‑matter expert on all Oldcastle Infrastructure precast concrete products, including utility vaults, concrete pipe, culverts, manholes, catch basins and other drainage products.
- Deliver top‑level service and communication internally and externally.
- Prospect opportunities and companies and market products within core markets.
- Identify and bid appropriate projects within the assigned marketing area and develop bid strategies.
- Utilize software tools (Salesforce, Office Suite, SharePoint) to manage prospects, issue quotes and communicate with the broader team.
- Meet specific sales volume and profit‑margin goals.
- Partner with other departments (Estimating, Project Leads, Operations, Transportation, Accounting) to ensure every account receives the highest level of customer service.
- Coordinate with the Oldcastle Commercial team to manage and leverage the product portfolio across company boundaries.
- Actively participate in industry‑related associations to develop and maintain key networking and business relationships.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to travel (approx. 50%+) throughout the sales region and a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Salesforce is a plus.
- Strong business acumen in sales and marketing within the civil infrastructure construction market, with knowledge of current and future industry trends.
- Ability to read and interpret civil design drawings and engineering production drawings (a plus).
- Proven ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with customers – both internally and externally.
- Proactive, self‑motivated, action‑oriented, and results‑driven.
- Experience in technical sales to engineers and specifying agencies is a plus.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of people within the company and in a sales capacity.
- Base salary range: $90,000 – $105,000
