Function / Position Summary
The primary purpose of this position is to manage ongoing Building Access and Security Controls projects and technical updates under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Planning and Systems or Designee. This person is responsible for the coordination and execution of projects and technical maintenance related to electronic access control, video surveillance, surveillance analytics, and integrated physical security systems for the District.
This position will work in tandem with the Building Access and Security Controls Office Specialist, school and Plant Operations staff to administer the building access and control systems noted above.
- Surveillance equipment monitoring and access control verification for the school district. Ensures all cameras are functioning as they should and that building access controls are secure.
- Guides the district vendors in prioritizing any corrections required.
- Lead and manage projects involving the installation, upgrade, integration, and optimization of electronic access control systems, video surveillance, and supporting infrastructure maintaining clear project scopes, schedules, and budgets.
- Oversee the planning, execution, and tracking of physical security object mapping, panic button integration and video analytics.
- Maintain the user credential database for all authorized internal and external users with approved access to video surveillance.
- Schedules, issues, and receives contractor badges and maintains the contractor database.
- Works in collaboration with Plant Operations Administrators to support the Contractor Access Policy.
- Provides electronic key entry and video surveillance records in support of internal and external organizational inquiries and official investigations when required.
- Assists with the recommendations, development, and documentation of standard operating procedures that support the strategic plan objectives and goals.
- Monitor, evaluate, and report on the effectiveness of district physical security measures for alignment with organizational goals.
- Assist with maintaining the key and key FOB inventory control & maintenance program, all keyless and keyed entry systems, and all other duties as assigned.
- Responsible for creating and implementing training plans for building staff in relation to all BASCO procedures.
- Assists with the planning, coordinating and implementation of special projects related to building access and camera surveillance.
- Assists District Safety in ensuring 911 calls placed from District phone extensions are recorded, responded to, and escalated to provide the proper emergency response.
- Provide backup in answering and responding to emergency phone calls on the 5060 line when required.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field, or equivalent 3-5 years of related experience
- Must display excellent problem solving and people management skills.
- Ability to manage projects assigned.
- Advanced computer skills and knowledge with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Drive.
- Proficient with Software CCure 9000 & Genetec Security Center VMS preferred.
- Ability to develop and document procedures, forms, and checklists as needed.
- Ability to set goals and establish methods for achieving them.
- Ability to review and evaluate operating procedures and recommend improvements.
- Ability to provide a very high level of customer service to schools and the community.
- Ability to prepare and brief high level and sensitive information reports, in confidence, as required.
- Strong people and process management skills, preferred.
- Detailed oriented skills, preferred.
- Ability to work at a computer over a major portion of the work day.
- Ability to work in a fast paced and stressful environment.
- Ability to lift, bend and kneel.
- Must be able to lift file boxes weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Flexibility in scheduling is required to meet the needs of the department.
This is a 12-month position. Salary and benefits as established by the Board of Education.
The salary range for this position is $60,243.00 - $90,353.00. It is our typical practice to hire in between the minimum and midpoint ($75,298.00).
