Base pay range
: $28.05/hr – $42.10/hr

Maintenance Trades Specialist II – HVAC Technician

• Conduct preventive maintenance tasks and repairs on basic facility systems and document tasks through a computerized maintenance system.
• Assist in evaluating and troubleshooting basic building system failures and perform repairs as directed.
• Operate, monitor, and maintain basic Utility System Infrastructure.
• Assist in maintaining fire alarm and fire protection systems.
• Support the installation of building hardware, electrical devices, and wall finishes under supervision.
• Maintain preventive maintenance records and equipment repair files for compliance.
• Read blueprints, Life Safety drawings and maintenance manuals to gain knowledge needed to complete assignments.

• Advanced training beyond High School, including the completion of technical training.
• Valid Driver’s License.

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.

• 2‑4 years of experience in relatable industrial/trades maintenance or operations.

• Works within clearly defined standard operating procedures.
• Intermediate level computer skills in using systems such as CMMS, Microsoft Office, Building Automation Systems.
• Good communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work with minimal oversight with intermediate level technical skills in facility maintenance.

• Works required shifts and participates in on‑call duty to provide 24/7 coverage.
• Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, crawl, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently throughout the workday.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. from floor to overhead, up to 50 lbs. from floor to chest level, and up to 50 lbs. at waist height a reasonable distance.
• Must be able to push/pull with 50 lbs. of force.
• Exposure to electrical and mechanical hazards and therefore knowledge of safety precautions.
• Position requires travel.
• May be exposed to road/weather hazards.
• Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.

• Recognized community college/tech school trade certificate experience or completion of a recognized community college program.
• Trade/Tech School Trades Certificate or trades or industry recognized certification/license requiring Continuing Education Units or periodic renewal.
• 2+ years of experience in relatable industrial/trades maintenance or operations.
