Equipment Maintenance Technician 1B – iHerb

Under general supervision, the Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives.

Sun‑Wed 6pm‑4am

• Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and plant facility equipment.
• Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and scheduled maintenance repairs during machine service.
• Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities.
• Apply mechanic skills including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
• Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
• Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.
• Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
• Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment.
• Detect faulty operations, defective material and report to proper supervision.
• Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.

• Knowledge of general warehouse practices.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work with hands in mechanically oriented situations.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions, and interpret pencil sketches and diagrams.
• Knowledge of OSHA and other legal requirements.

• Knowledge of various types of equipment in maintenance trades.
• Knowledge of conveyors, motors and DC drives.

Generally requires a minimum of two (2) to five (5) years of maintenance mechanic or related experience.

An Associate’s Degree in mechanical or related field preferred, or a combination of education and equivalent work experience.

Able to identify, troubleshoot and resolve problems quickly using sound judgment, poise and diplomacy. Ability to use judgment and reasoning skills, and determine when to elevate issues, as required, in a timely manner.

The Team Member is regularly required to talk and hear, stand, walk, climb stairs, use hands and fingers, bend, stoop and reach with hands and arms. The Team Member may occasionally lift or move materials and products up to 45 lbs unassisted.
