Administrative Management, Operations Manager
Position Summary
Warehouse Supervisor works with Operations Teams to oversee the day‑to‑day activities, administrative needs, and appearance of warehouse and yard locations in support of each regional office or geographical location. The Supervisor also answers system questions, processes BOLs (Bills of Lading), and performs data entry in a timely manner.
EssentialJob Duties And Responsibilities
- Learn and manage warehouse‑specific software and data requirements; ensure accuracy for inventory, pick tickets, dispatch, or disbursement of items and consumables.
- Collaborate with warehouse locations (in‑area and out‑of‑region) and with accounting or sales departments as needed for customer requirements.
- Analyze logistical information with the warehouse manager to identify the best means and cost‑saving measures for transporting or storing items.
- Assist warehouse personnel with problem‑solving and troubleshooting of supply chain, warehousing, or logistics issues.
- Participate in inventory counts and assessments at month, quarter, or year‑end as required.
- Assist Regional Office with monthly storage reports and truck counts needed for accurate customer billing.
- Maintain all records, logs, process documentation, and required reports daily, including timely check‑ins of items received and ensuring item receipts are sent to customers.
- Ensure crew timesheets are submitted to the operations administrator on a daily basis.
- Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments as necessary for correct cataloging, safety, and quality – performing inspection tasks of incoming or outgoing items as required.
- Interact with customers, drivers, vendors, auditors, and visitors in a manner consistent with MEI’s mission and policy statements; reach out to customers when items come in and questions arise to ensure correct check‑in.
- Interact with the Regional Office Sales team and Sales administrators as needed for accurate reporting and placement of items under correct jobs.
- Travel to local warehouse locations occasionally as needed.
- Perform all other duties as assigned or required.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; higher education or certificate in a related field preferred.
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in warehousing or supply chain; a combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain insurance.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Windows‑based computer systems, software (particularly MS Office), data export, and learning new software;
Microsoft Excel skills required. - Understanding of logistics as it relates to trucking and interstate transportation activities preferred.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations pertaining to warehousing and logistics; understanding of state or geographical location laws and regulations preferred.
- Ability to keep legible records in English and understand grammatical differences and meanings of words.
- Ability to travel locally, both on a scheduled and ad‑hoc basis.
- Familiarity with mathematical concepts and calculations.
Normal, climate‑controlled office environment with occasional indoor and outdoor movement that may involve uneven terrain, warehouse conditions, low‑lit areas, and non‑temperature‑controlled environments. Extensive periods of sitting, using a computer, typing with a keyboard, and using a mouse. Occasional lifting of up to 10 pounds. Frequent use of senses: sight, sound, manual dexterity, touch, and speech.
Shift InformationMonday – Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for full-time; schedule may vary for special projects and some overtime may be required as needed.
