Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit

The Division of Academic Affairs provides leadership in developing and maintaining quality academic programs and support services that contribute to the achievement of the university’s mission. The division strives to be recognized as a student‑centered university with emphasis on excellence in teaching, learning, and scholarly activities; commitment to total student development; and outstanding service and engagement with local, regional, national and global communities.

Responsibilities

• Provide up to 12 hours of individual college‑level percussion instruction per week, plus one group percussion class.
• Collaborate with other faculty, diverse community musicians, and music groups to promote alternative, popular, and commercial music styles within the music program and on campus.

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 hours of graduate‑level percussion instruction (required).
• M.M. in Percussion Performance with college‑level teaching experience (preferred).
• Strong interpersonal skills and effective communication with a wide range of individuals and constituencies.
• Commitment to excellence in student learning and ability to promote student success in a multicultural and global community.
