Direct Care Registered Nurse
APS Cardiology in Elizabeth City, North Carolina is looking to hire a Direct Care Registered Nurse. Sign on Bonus of $10,000 is offered to qualified candidates.
The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible for performing a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The RN applies standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching, health promotion, and evaluation) along with standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence‑based practice, nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) to provide professional nursing.
In addition, the RN meets and maintains specialty requirements within specified timelines, e.g., Critical Care/IMCU ACLS within 1 year of hire, Emergency Care ACLS & PALS or ENPC within 1 year, Oncology Care ONS/ONCC or Sentara approved course Chemotherapy & Biotherapy Provider Card within 6 months, Women’s Care – Perinatal departments – NRP within 6 months, Inpatient Pediatrics – PALS within 6 months.
Education- 2‑year RN associate degree required
- BSN or MSN preferred
- RN licensure required
- All Direct Care RNs required to have BLS within 90 days of hire
- Certification requirements by specialty to be met within specified periods (see above)
- 1 year of nursing experience preferred
- Develops, implements, and evaluates plans of care for specific patient populations
- Manages a patient case load through coordination and collaboration with multidisciplinary team members
- Possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards in specific clinical areas
