THE OPPORTUNITY

The UGDSB is seeking a dynamic individual to join our team for a permanent full-time opportunity in the capacity of Early Childhood Educator .

Location: Princess Elizabeth Public School

Note:

School location/geographical area cannot be guaranteed in perpetuity and are subject to change based on student and system needs

FTE and

Hours:

1.0 FTE; 32.5 hours per week

Hourly
Rate of Pay : $30.92 - $36.74 per hour, plus applicable vacation pay in accordance with the ESA; wage rate effective September 1, 2025

College/Association Fees: Reimbursement for full cost of professional fees as required by the Board

Start Date: January 5, 2026.

Board Information: 10-month position (yearly from September – June following the school year calendar); permanent; full-time;
Educational Student Support Personnel (ESSP) & Designated Early Childhood Educators (DECE) Union

Vacancy Status: This posting is for an existing vacancy

Reporting to the Principal, the Early Childhood Educator (ECE) will be part of the Early Learning team. In this role, the ECE will collaborate with the classroom teacher to implement a full-day early learning program within a classroom setting which will enhance children's cognitive, physical, social and emotional development. The ECE will share responsibilities with other educators for instruction, assessment, and supervision as well as communication with families and school teams.

The ECE will also establish and maintain collaborative relationships with other community services providers working with children. The ECE may be required to provide supervision and age-appropriate (learning) programming for groups of students as part of the extended day program as required.

Responsibilities:

  • Working collaboratively with the teacher and staff of school to deliver the Early Learning Program
  • Collaborating with the teacher in planning, developing and implementing daily activities that support and promote the development of children in their intellectual, emotional and physical development
  • Assisting children in washroom routines, dressing and lunchtime activities
  • Establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with other community services providers working with children
