Olfactory Intelligence has applications across industries including fragrance, manufacturing, security, medicine, and more. We believe in the power of automation and thoughtfully applied AI/ML to solve problems beyond the reach of human intuition alone. Osmo is headquartered in New York, NY, with a new facility in New Jersey, and offices in Somerville, MA.

Osmo is seeking an EHS Manager to support our mission to democratize scent by building and owning the Environmental, Health, and Safety foundation for our growing manufacturing operations. In this role, you will establish and maintain EHS programs that enable safe, compliant, and scalable production across bulk materials handling, automated dosing, compounding, and warehousing operations.

This role requires a hands‑on EHS professional who can operate independently, partner closely with Engineering and Operations, and take full ownership of site safety and compliance. You will be responsible for building structure, consistency, and a proactive safety culture in a fast‑growing manufacturing and lab environment.

Key Responsibilities

EHS Program Ownership
  • Own and manage site-wide environmental, health, and safety programs.
  • Build, implement, and maintain EHS systems, procedures, and training programs to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain required permits, registrations, documentation, and compliance calendars.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for EHS-related matters at the site.
Safety, Compliance, and Risk Management
  • Ensure compliance with applicable OSHA, EPA, DOT, and state regulatory requirements.
  • Lead safety risk assessments and support engineering and operations in identifying and mitigating hazards.
  • Develop and maintain incident reporting, investigation, and corrective action processes.
  • Support emergency preparedness, spill response, and fire safety programs.
Training, Operational Support, and Engagement
  • Partner with Engineering, Production, and Quality to embed safety into processes, equipment, and workflows.
  • Support audits, inspections, and customer EHS questionnaires as needed.
  • Act as a liaison with regulators, auditors, and emergency responders.
  • Develop and deliver EHS training for onboarding and ongoing operations.
  • Maintain training matrices and ensure required certifications remain current.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field.
  • 3+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing, chemical, or industrial environment.
  • Working knowledge of environmental and occupational safety regulations.
  • Strong ownership mindset with the ability to operate independently.
  • Hands‑on, practical approach to safety in a production environment.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
