About Us:

Join a nationwide network of over 600 hearing care centers spanning 42 states. As part of the Demant Group, a global leader in hearing healthcare with over a century of expertise, Hearing Life prides itself on innovation, care, and results-oriented approaches. Salary range is $19-23/hr.

Responsibilities

• Hands-On Learning:
  From day 1, gain practical experience and mentorship from audiologists in comprehensive evaluations, patient engagement, and solution-oriented education. Clinics may also offer experience in pediatric and vestibular testing.
• Peer interaction:
  Virtually connect with externs nationwide, building a supportive network for structured encouragement. This collaboration enhances clinical skills and insights into office operations.
• Continuous Growth:
  Participate in monthly manufacturer-led workshops or meet one-on-one with trainers for individualized learning. Many externs transition to full-time roles as Hearing Life prioritizes internal promotion.
• Community Impact:
  Engage in volunteer initiatives and community engagement while using cutting-edge technology to tailor patient solutions (computer-based audiometers, real ear verification, and test box measures to uphold audio logic best practices).

Qualifications

• Must actively be in an AuD program.

Daily Extern Responsibilities

• Learn and ask questions to your preceptor
• Appointment documentation
• Lead selection, fitting, follow-up, and service appointments
• Ordering/servicing hearing aids
• Earmold impressions
• Conduct follow-up calls with patients
• Participate in clinic/company meetings
• Any task beneficial to your clinic
